We will be talking about this show more in the coming weeks, but with one of our favorite painters, #ErikParker, is set to open a new series of works at Mary Boone Gallery in NYC, entitled "New Mood." The show will run from March 3 to April 21, 2018, and will feature Parker's signature psychedelic, pop-culture drenched, almost collaged-organized paintings. "I don't understand the rival between legal vs illegal. Everyone is free to do what they want. I did illegal graffiti, I mean "the real deal", for almost 20 years before I started to do art. Now, I am doing something completely different and I feel great about that." “It’s a trip out here," @lukepelletier says of LA. "There are palm trees everywhere so it feels like you’re always on vacation. People smoke weed outside of bars like they’re smoking cigarettes. Everywhere you go, it’s like having déjà vu because you’ve been there before in some movie you can’t recall.” His new show, #AmericanFizzle is now on view at @newimageart
Starting on February 24 and running through April 7, 2018, Dorothy Circus Gallery in Rome will kick off their 2018 schedule with a brand new solo show by #CamilleRoseGarcia, entitled The Ballrooms of Mars. Maybe it's just me, but there is something quite comforting with controlled chaos. I like the idea of organization amongst all the noise of the world, where you let yourself blend into the mechanics of the modern world. #DanielAgdag, with his fantastical cardboard sculptures of machines, gears and technological structures that surround us, is literally breaking down and examining chaos in new and exciting ways. His new show opens tonight at Jonathan LeVine ... see more -> https://www.juxtapoz.c...

"I’ve wanted to live in Los Angeles for as long as I can remember," Luke Pelletier - American Fizzle / Not A Whole Lot Going On told us in our Winter 2018 issue. "A lot of that came from being into punk and skateboarding because that’s where all my favorite bands and skaters were, but I had no reference for it other than what I saw in movies. So I always had this picture in my head of what the city was like. Most of that came from Beverly Hills Cop, Dogtown And Z-Boys, Fast Times At Ridgemon...
"I like hats in general because they can tell a lot about a person. They’re strong indicators of class, personality, occupation etc. The straw hat, in particular, revolves around themes of protection, poverty, and distress." --Wendell Gladstone to Juxtapoz Magazine Read our full interview with the artist here --- > https://www.juxtapoz.com/news/painting/fever-pitch-an-interview-with-wendell-gladstone/
“I think more than my earlier exhibitions, this project, attempts to answer the question: If time were reversed and analog followed digital, if plywood clubhouses were made in order to bring video game narratives into the real world, how would that look?” — @johnjacobsmeyer in advance to his new solo show @jonathanlevineprojects opening February 17.
